Uninstall IQ Code

Remove the plugin, then choose whether to keep your local preferences and usage records.

1. Stop routing

/iq-route off

Choose another Claude Code theme with /theme if you are using IQ Light or IQ Dark.

2. Remove the plugin

The one-line installers and the marketplace commands install the same plugin. Use the command that matches how you installed IQ Code, then restart Claude Code.

Marketplace install, in your terminal on any OS

claude plugin uninstall iq-code@iq-routing --scope user

Inside Claude Code, /plugin uninstall iq-code@iq-routing also removes the plugin. Add --keep-data to the command above to keep the plugin's data folder.

macOS or Linux installer

Uninstalling the plugin from its last install scope removes the IQ key that Claude Code stores for it, and --keep-data does not keep the key. Add the key again after you reinstall: run /plugin configure iq-code@iq-routing, then /reload-plugins. Claude Code keeps the key in the macOS Keychain, falling back to ~/.claude/.credentials.json if the Keychain rejects the write. Linux and Windows use ~/.claude/.credentials.json (%USERPROFILE%\.claude\.credentials.json on Windows).

The iq-routing marketplace stays registered. To remove it, run claude plugin marketplace remove iq-routing.

3. Optional: remove local IQ data

Uninstalling does not delete ~/.claude/iq/ (%USERPROFILE%\.claude\iq on Windows), which holds IQ settings, logs and any legacy key file. The Claude Code command never deletes it, so delete the folder yourself to remove it. The installers keep it too, unless you add --purge to their uninstall command:

If you used the legacy IQ_ROUTER_KEY environment setting, remove it from your shell or user-level Claude settings too. Remove only IQ Code entries; keep unrelated Claude settings.

Restore your terminal's previous profile in its preferences if you imported an IQ terminal profile.

Your subscription

Uninstalling IQ Code does not cancel Personal. Manage the subscription separately from Billing in your IQ dashboard.
